Maggie Grace was born Margaret Grace Denig in September 21 in 1983. She is an American Actress best known as Shannon Rutherford in ABC TV series Lost. She was born in Worthington in Ohio. She dropped out of school after her parents divorced to go into Los Angeles to live with her mother. As she struggled financially, she was able to land her first role as Rachel's Room's title character the video on-demand show Rachel's Room in 2001. The actress was able to secure a Young Artist Award nomination in 2002 for her performance as fifteen-year-old victim Martha Moxley in the television movie Murder set in Greenwich. In 2004 Grace was chosen to play Shannon Rutherford in the television series Lost on which she was a main actor for the first two seasons, and was awarded an award called the Screen Actors Guild Award shared by the entire cast. Grace has worked with Tom Welling on The Fog in the year 2005, decided to make the move into film. The actress has also appeared in Suburban Girl The Jane Austen Book Club and in 2007 as well as in Taken opposite Liam Neeson in 2008 as Kim Mills. Her role was reprised in Taken 2 (2011) and Taken 3 (2013).She also played Alice in Malice in Wonderland, a contemporary adaptation to the Lewis Carroll novel Alice's Adventures in Wonderland. Grace played the role of Shannon in Lost in the series, which included the conclusion. In 2013, she was in the six-season of Californication. The character she plays is Faith who's an avid stargazer as well as a socialite. Hank Moody, played by David Duchovny, falls for her. She is part of Gyllenhaal's family, and is the older cousin of Jake Gyllenhaal. Her acting career started as a teenager with small role in films made from her father. In addition, she was a part of her brother in 2001's popular film Donnie Darko. She appeared next in Adaptation Confessions of a Dangerous Mind both in 2002 and Mona Lisa Smile (2003). Gyllenhaal's lead roles in Secretary, a romantic comedy-drama erotico, as well as Sherrybaby (a dramatic) earned her nominations for Golden Globe Awards. The Dark Knight, which came out in 2008 following several highly successful films including World Trade Center (2006) which brought her greater recognition, was a huge success for Gyllenhaal. She was nominated in the Academy Award as Best Supporting Actress due to her part on the film Crazy Heart, (2009). In the following years, she was in comedies and dramas such as Nanny McPhee's Big Bang (2010) Hysteria 2011 and Won't Back Down 2012 The actress also was the role of a Secret Service Agent in White House Down which was an action thriller from 2013, a musician in Frank (2014) as well as her role as the main character on The Kindergarten Teacher, a drama that was released in the year of 2018. Gyllenhaal was first introduced as a writer and director in 2021 with her psycho-drama The Lost Daughter. For this movie, she received the Best Screenplay Award at the Venice International Film Festival and received nominations for the Academy Award.
